Two-day beginner barista course. Hands-on espresso and café drinks training on commercial machines, NZQA-aligned, and packed with practical café-ready skills.

This course is suitable for students who have limited work experience in cafés or restaurants in the New Zealand hospitality sector and want to gain NZQA credits to assist in gaining future employment. 

NZQA Unit Standard: 17285

The cost of the materials and certification is included in the course fee. 

Non-New Zealand residents may enrol provided they hold the appropriate visa conditions. Please consult with the administration team before enrolling at comed@ohs.school.nz about eligibility. 

Note! You must be able to attend both Saturdays scheduled within one workshop.

Workshop Term 3: Sat 8 August and Sat 22 August 2026 

Workshop Term 4: Sat 28 November and Sat 12 December 2026
