Spend a couple of weeks unlocking the mysteries of South Asian cooking.  All the food you have enjoyed eating in ethnic restaurants learn how to prepare them with simple recipes and easily available local ingredients.  From Chinese dumplings to Malaysian noodles, Thai green curry to Japanese sushi.


WOODWORK - BEGINNERS TO INTERMEDIATE

A hands-on practical class.  Work on your own project at your own pace under Paul’s guidance.  All equipment is supplied, however, bring your own materials.  No recycled timer can be used as this may damage school equipment.  Students who have not previously attended this class are required to start a week early for an introduction night to learn about the equipment and to discuss their projects with the tutor. 


COOKIE DECORATING

We will cover the basics of cookie decorating using royal icing and take you through different techniques on how to make your cookies look great! Small, informal and friendly class with lots of time for individual help. Starts from how to search on the internet, find the useful information, create an email account and sending email, word processing. The course will be tailored to suit the needs and interests of the group.

An intensive conversation-based course, giving you the ability to converse freely and confidently in everyday situations. A basic introduction to the culture will be included. Mitsuko is a native Japanese speaker with experience in adult teaching.

An introduction to the Mandarin Language. All essential skills will be covered with emphasis on conversation.


MS EXCEL BEGINNERS TO INTERMEDIATE

A class for people who have some computer skills but are new to Excel. This course will provide you with a means of performing numerical and statistical calculations. Learn the basics of Excel including formulae, formatting, editing, replication and much more. Step two will cover more advanced functions, spreadsheet design, data sorting and filtering, charts and graphs and much more.

Life Stories tutor Maria de Jong is offering a memoir writing course in a small group setting at Onehunga High School. The course will inspire, encourage and support you through the process of writing your life story or family history. Classes are designed for those new to writing and will include exercises.
